The True Enemy The enemy of the self is not suffering; it's idolatry, turning to worship for the self projected and objectified. It is the heart's desire to find security and meaning in something or someone other than God's Love and Will. Love God and others as yourself. In all idolization lies self-idolization, a twisted reflection of divine purpose. Every heart happy in idolatry is evil. You shall not make for yourself an idol. Idolatry is when you worship what you should use and use what you should worship. This perversion of divine order is a deceit of the soul. Don't be idolators.
