The Living Gospel #2072

The Living Gospel In the early light, Christ walks the streets, With a message pure, His mission repeats. He shares the Gospel, love’s eternal flame, With neighbors near, they hear His name. "Invite the poor," He calls to each heart, In our humble acts, we take our part. With parables and truths, He lights the way, Guiding us through night to break of day. A man lies wounded, left by the road, The Good Samaritan shares his load. In every act of mercy, kindness, grace, The Gospel of Jesus finds its place. “Come, you blessed,” the King will say, “When you fed the hungry, showed the way. When you clothed the naked, healed the pain, In each loving gesture, My spirit reigns.” "Lay up treasures in heaven," He pleads, Where neither moth nor rust can proceed. In giving freely, without a claim, We find our hearts ignite in flame. The Gospel lives in us, alive and true, In every hand we hold, every act we do. Christ on the streets, in the morning light, Reflects His love, shining ever bright. For when we serve, in joy, in need, We fulfill His call, His loving creed. The Gospel of Jesus, not just words we say, But life in action, shown every day. -Steven G. Lee (June 29, 2024)
