The Brilliance of the Gospel The gospel of Jesus Christ, Sufficient and true, Transforms the human conscience, Giving it a heavenly view. Cast away the selfish mind, Release the body's chains, Through the gospel's radiant light, Only righteousness remains. "For where jealousy and selfish ambition exist, Disorder and vile practice prevail," Yet through the gospel's cleansing power, The soul’s purity will entail. Love the Lord with all your heart, With all your soul and might, And love your neighbor as yourself, In this, the gospel shines so bright. If we embrace the Savior's call, And take up our cross each day, We’ll find the path to true life, In His footsteps, we will stay. The brilliance of the gospel shines, Even when it’s not esteemed, For Christ, the light of the world, Brings life to all who have dreamed. “I am the light,” Jesus proclaimed, “Whoever follows me will never walk in darkness, But will have the light of life,” In Him, we find our starkness.
