The Steadfast Soul #1997
The Steadfast Soul
In the shadow of temptation's call,
We stand, we stumble, but never fall.
Beyond the power, we strive to grow,
Yet its presence, we always know.
Beware the lure of fleeting desires,
The moment's whim, the heart's false fires.
Do not forsake what matters most,
For what you crave, a fleeting ghost.
Temptation tests, it tries, it proves,
In every step, in all we choose.
Yet God is faithful, strong, and near,
His promise firm, His love sincere.
He will not let us bear too much,
His hand extends, His gentle touch.
When tempted, He provides the way,
To endure, to stand, to never sway.
Good habits bloom from battles won,
From every dawn to setting sun.
Resist the pull, the siren's plea,
And find the strength to stay, to be.
For in the trial, the soul is shaped,
In fires fierce, yet never scraped.
Stand firm, hold fast, and you will see,
The steadfast soul, from sin set free.
