The Greater Truth #2063

The Greater Truth What we have in the Gospel, Is greater than all we lack, A treasure that outshines, Every dream we hold back. It may sting with truth, A necessary, piercing light, But it never soothes with lies, In the darkest of night. Prisoners of past deceptions, We often find ourselves chained, Yet His plan is far greater, Than the mistakes we’ve stained. Each of us here for a purpose, In the grand design of grace, Not just for our own need, But for another’s embrace. "For none of us lives to himself, And none dies to himself alone," Together in divine tapestry, With seeds of love sown. "I am the Good Shepherd," He proclaimed with gentle might, Who lays down His life for the sheep, In the depths of the night. So let go of past shadows, Embrace the light anew, For in the Gospel’s promise, There’s a greater truth for you. Each day a new beginning, A chance to heed His call, Not because we needed it, But to uplift others, all. -Steven G. Lee (June 29, 2024)
