Rediscovering True Identity #2043
Rediscovering True Identity
In lands where faith once tall did stand,
A fractured image haunts our land.
Christian hearts by shadows cast,
Bound by idols, false and vast.
Nationalism, partisan sway,
Racial lines lead us astray.
Socio-economic ties that bind,
Stray from paths of the divine.
Church, once axis of the sphere,
Now whispers faint, no longer clear.
Leaders waver, hearts in plight,
Chasing shadows, losing sight.
Discipleship, a path once known,
Forgotten in the power zone.
Hollow souls in worldly chase,
Blindly seek the fleeting grace.
Yet there’s a call, a sacred start,
To find again the sacred heart.
In Jesus' light, our path unite,
Kingdom views, eschatological sight.
In Nazarene’s humble tread,
True identity is fed.
Not in constructs of man’s reign,
But in Christ’s eternal gain.
A fractured image, made whole,
In the cross, find our soul.
Worldly shadows, fade away,
In the light of eternal day.
Heed this call, return once more,
To faith that stands, pure at core.
Beacon bright in darkened land,
Christ’s true love, hand in hand.
