Breaking Chains: America's Journey #2036

Breaking Chains: America's Journey In the heart where shadows grow, Where troubles flow and sorrows sow, America, bound by vices deep, In darkness, we often weep. Addictions grip, from guns to greed, A broken nation, hearts in need. Drugs and lust, racism's scars, Alcohol's chains, greed's cruel bars. Yet, amid this darkened night, A beacon shines, a hopeful light. Pastor's voice, so strong and clear, A call to action, for all to hear. "God is faithful," we proclaim, "Breaking chains, in His name." From guns to peace, we turn our gaze, In Christ’s love, let compassion blaze. Where drugs once thrived, let joy now grow, Spiritual fulfillment, the only flow. In lust's dark grasp, let purity rise, Respect and love, cleanse our eyes. For those in alcohol's tight bind, In Christ’s strength, new hope we find. Racism's chains, we must dismantle, All God's children, a light, a mantle. In capitalism's grasp, let's seek to give, In stewardship and love, truly live. The future’s path, not in these binds, But in repentance, freedom finds. A call to action, let us heed, The Gospel’s power, our lives to lead. America’s hope, in faith we stand, Transforming hearts, healing the land. A beacon of light, a call so grand, With Christ as guide, we take His hand. Through repentance, faith, and love's embrace, We’ll see the dawn of a brighter place. A nation renewed, in unity, rise, Under God’s banner, beneath His skies. Together we forge, with purpose divine, A future of hope, where His light will shine. -Steven G. Lee (June 29, 2024)
