Hearts of Darkness #2021 (Poem)

Hearts of Darkness In shadows deep, where evil craves, Their hearts demand control, Authority their highest aim, Self-reference their sole. They twist the sacred Scriptures, To suit their selfish gain, Ignoring words that call for change, For repentance, they disdain. With conscience lost and hardened, Remorse is but a ghost, Evil hearts, devoid of light, In darkness they are engrossed. They shun the path of righteousness, Avoid the narrow way, Reject the truth that could set free, In sin, they choose to stay. But light awaits the humble soul, The heart that seeks the truth, To turn from evil, find remorse, And walk in grace, renew. -Steven G. Lee (June 29, 2024)
