Riches of Grace #2018
Riches of Grace
In the ruins of the cities,
Where lambs will eat grass,
And young goats find pasture,
A doom whispers through the masses.
"You are doomed!" it cries,
"Unable to break free from your sins,
Tethered to your transgressions,
Bound by chains that never rescind."
Experimental case study:
What is troubling you today?
From the threshing floor or the winepress,
Where can I find help for you, I pray?
A voice from ancient pages,
Tells of despair's darkest depths,
A mother’s heart-wrenching anguish,
In a tale where sorrow never rests.
"This woman said to me,
'Give your son, that we may eat him today,
And we will eat my son tomorrow.'
Desperation leads the way."
The horror of survival’s grasp,
In times where hope seems lost,
But amidst the shadows of despair,
A glimmer of grace’s cost.
According to the riches of grace,
Redemption in blood so pure,
Forgiveness flowing from heaven’s throne,
In Christ, salvation secure.
In the ruins and in the weeping,
In the anguish and in the night,
Grace abounds, unending, deep,
Turning darkness into light.
So hold fast to the promise,
Though doom may cloud the skies,
Grace reaches through the ruin,
With mercy that never dies.
