The Garden of His Peace In the shadows where ambition lies, Jealousy spreads its wings and flies, Disorder brews, vile deeds arise, In tumult's grip, the spirit cries. Yet from the heights, a voice resounds, A call to love that knows no bounds, "Love your God with all your might, And love your neighbor as your light." Seek first His kingdom, righteousness true, Cast off the worldly, old and new, Deny yourself, take up the cross, In surrender, find the gain from loss. In Christ's light, our hearts secure, From fleeting praise, intentions pure, Selfish thoughts and desires released, In Gospel's grace, our fears decreased. A shield of grace, a holy guard, Protects our lives, our souls unmarred, Divine alignment, hearts refined, In love and faith, our path defined. Where His truth and love persist, Chaos fades, vile deeds dismissed, The beauty of His peace takes root, In the garden of our souls, absolute. So cast away ambition's blight, Embrace the Gospel, live in light, Transform through love, let peace increase, And walk within His garden of peace. -Steven G. Lee (June 30, 2024)
