Casting Away Selfish Ambition: A Reflection #2099

Casting Away Selfish Ambition: A Reflection (The Garden of His Peace) Casting Away Selfish Ambition: A Reflection In the dim corners where jealousy lurks and selfish ambition takes root, disorder thrives. Every vile practice springs forth from these seeds, creating a storm of chaos beneath deceitful skies. Yet, a higher calling echoes through the ages, beckoning us to rise above this turmoil. "Love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your mind," the sacred command whispers, urging us to devote every fiber of our being to His divine purpose. "And love your neighbor as yourself," it continues, a call to embrace others with the same fervent care we reserve for ourselves. In this journey, we are reminded to seek first His kingdom and His righteousness, casting off the burdens of worldly anxieties. The call to deny oneself, to take up the cross, resonates deeply, promising a profound transformation through surrender. It is in giving up the transient that we gain the eternal, finding security not in human praise but in the light of Christ. If we abandon our selfish thoughts and desires, embracing the Gospel of Jesus Christ, we discover a shield of grace that protects our very lives. It is a sacred exchange: our frailty for His strength, our chaos for His peace. In this divine alignment, hearts are purified, intentions are clarified, and a new path emerges. As we strive with renewed hearts, love and faith guide our steps, ensuring we remain true to our calling. Where His love and truth persist, disorder and vile practices cannot thrive. Instead, the beauty of His peace takes root, flourishing in the garden of our souls. Thus, in casting away selfish ambition and embracing the Gospel, we find not only protection but a profound peace. It is a journey of transformation, guided by the light of His love, leading us to a place where the beauty of His peace reigns supreme. -Steven G. Lee (June 30, 2024)
