Casting Away Selfish Ambition In the shadows where jealousy resides, And selfish ambition spreads its wings wide, Disorder brews, vile practices arise, A turbulent storm beneath deceitful skies. Yet, love the Lord with all your heart, With soul and mind, let nothing part, And love your neighbor, pure and true, This sacred path, He calls you to. Seek first His kingdom, His righteousness, Cast off the burdens of earthly stress, Deny yourself, take up the cross, In surrender, gain from what seems loss. For those who seek man's praise alone, Find empty echoes, a hollowed throne, But in Christ’s light, we stand secure, A heart made pure, intentions sure. If we cast away the selfish mind, In Jesus' Gospel, hope we find, Protecting lives with sacred grace, A holy shield, in His embrace.
