The Echo of His Silence #1991

The Echo of His Silence God's silence doesn't mean God's absence, In stillness, His presence does reside. For silence is God's language, And His speech, a tranquil tide. All else is but poor translation, For His voice is subtle and small. In silence, He calls us deeper, To heed His gentle call. "Blessed are those who have not seen, And yet in faith, they still believe." For in the quiet, truth is gleaned, And grace is what they receive. Not in the wind, nor in the quake, Nor in the fire's blazing light, But in a still, small voice, He speaks, In the calm of the silent night. God's word is found in solitude, In the quiet, where hearts align. Though echoed by the cry of Christ, "Why have You forsaken me?" in time. Yet in that cry, a deeper call, A whisper through the darkest night, In silence, we find His word, In solitude, His power and might. So embrace the echo of His silence, For there, His presence is profound. In the quiet, find His guidance, In stillness, His love is found. -Steven G. Lee (June 28, 2024)
