The Price of Possession: A Divine Warning Against Greed #2027
The Price of Possession: A Divine Warning Against Greed
In a world of gold and silver’s gleam,
Where every inch is bought and sold,
Echoes a truth, a timeless dream,
From scriptures ancient, stories old.
The land is not for endless gain,
Nor fields for hoarding wealth untold,
For earth belongs to God’s domain,
His voice within the silence bold.
“We are but strangers passing through,”
Sojourning on this sacred ground,
Yet blinded by the greed we brew,
We fail to hear the warning sound.
You buy more houses, fields to hold,
With grasping hands, you yearn for more,
But soon, the stories will unfold,
Of those who have, and those who bore.
Doomed are they, who seek to own,
All that they see, and more beyond,
For soon, no place for seeds is sown,
And life’s sweet melody is gone.
In the race for wealth and might,
We lose the heart, the soul’s delight,
Ignoring cries of those in plight,
We shroud the world in endless night.
The land is His, the heavens too,
Not ours to claim, nor ours to trade,
A call to cherish, to renew,
To live as stewards, undismayed.
So heed this warning, bold and clear,
The price of possession, greed’s dark creed,
For in the end, it’s love we bear,
That sows the seeds of righteous deed.
