The Way of Action for Life #1987
The Way of Action for Life
What shall it profit a man,
if he shall gain the whole world,
and lose his own life?
~ Jesus (Mk 8:36)
In the garden of existence, where trees of faith reside,
Christianity stands tall, its branches spreading wide.
The Old Testament, deep roots in ancient earth,
Nourishing the trunk with wisdom from its birth.
The New Testament, blossoms in the spring,
Petals of hope and promise, where angels gently sing.
Christ's teaching, the fruit so ripe and sweet,
In His words and deeds, the essence we meet.
His life, a testament to love and grace,
The taste of divine truth, in every time and place.
In the way of action, He guides our sight,
To live a life of purpose, in His holy light.
For what shall it profit, to gain the world’s embrace,
If we lose our soul, and our eternal place?
In the balance of gain, the measure is clear,
Life's true wealth, in Christ's path, draws near.
The way of action, in His steps we find,
A journey of the heart, a renewal of the mind.
In the taste of His fruits, our spirit takes flight,
Rooted in the ancient, blossomed in the light.
