The Living Gospel in Our Streets #2073

The Living Gospel in Our Streets In dawn's soft glow, Christ walks our way, His message of love, we hear today. Among our neighbors, He shares with grace, A call to hearts in every place. "Invite the poor, the crippled, the blind," In these acts of love, His truth we find. A tapestry of mercy, woven with care, In every heart, His love lays bare. The Good Samaritan's tale comes alive, In every gesture, His teachings thrive. “Come, you blessed,” He tenderly speaks, In feeding, clothing, in comfort we seek. Lay up treasures where moth cannot steal, In giving freely, true wealth we feel. Not gold or silver, but lives we touch, In love’s sweet action, we give so much. The Gospel lives in each deed and word, In kindness shown, in prayers heard. Christ in the streets, in morning’s light, Through us, His love shines ever bright. His call to serve, to heal, to give, In every moment, in how we live. The ordinary becomes holy ground, In acts of love, His presence found. This morning, may we deeply see, The Gospel’s truth, alive and free. In every hand we hold, every tear we dry, Christ walks with us, so near, so nigh. Let us be His hands, His heart, His feet, Bringing His love to all we meet. The living Gospel in our streets, In every heartbeat, His love completes. -Steven G. Lee (June 29, 2024)
