Upholding Truth in Our Modern World #1728

Upholding Truth in Our Modern World Justice retreats, righteousness stands afar, Truth stumbles and falters in streets bizarre. Isaiah’s world, a mirror to our own, Where truth is marginalized, scarcely known. Friends betray friends, trust wears thin, Lies spread thick in a world steeped in sin. Jeremiah's lament echoes through time, Deceit roams free, truth hard to find. Paul warns Timothy of doctrines unsound, People seek myths, in comfort they're bound. Truth set aside for what pleases the ear, Reality fades, manipulation draws near. Amidst misinformation, Jesus brings light: "You will know truth, it will set you right." In a world bound by lies, freedom lies clear, Embrace the truth, dispel the fear. Public trust erodes, integrity fades, Media dances, honesty cascades. Cynicism grows where deceit takes hold, A weary populace, disillusioned, cold. Moral decline as truth is sold, Profit and convenience make values fold. Personal ties and trust decay, In deception's grip, they fade away. Biblical wisdom, truth in life, Guides us through a world of strife. The pursuit of truth is just and right, Without it, souls face stagnant night. Uphold truth in every sphere, Advocate for justice, let it steer. Integrity in actions, norms so clear, Build a world strong and sincere. In this complex, deceptive land, The Bible's wisdom helps us stand. Uphold truth, let it be our guide, In a world where deceit can't hide. Together we build society true, Anchored in truth, in all we do. The Bible's light shines ever bright, Guiding us to a just, righteous life. -Steven G. Lee (June 9, 2024)
