The Call of Proverbs #1664
The Call of Proverbs
In the shadows of complacency, where ignorance takes its throne,
Lies a realm of fleeting comfort, where true wisdom is unknown.
Fools delight in their derision, mocking knowledge with disdain,
Yet the path they tread is narrow, paved with folly, marked by pain.
In the echo chambers, bounded, where beliefs are seldom tried,
Truth is but a fleeting whisper, lost in waves of stubborn pride.
Pseudoscience and delusion, spreading like a noxious vine,
Choke the roots of understanding, dim the light of the divine.
Information floods our senses, yet we grasp but shallow streams,
Neglecting depths of wisdom for the lure of easy dreams.
Critical thought, a beacon dimmed, as rote and test prevail,
Leaves minds adrift, untethered, to the sirens’ call of fail.
But within the ancient scriptures, wisdom calls to those who heed,
"Seek the fear of God," it whispers, "Find in reverence the seed."
For the fear of the Lord is the beginning, where knowledge takes its flight,
And the heart that seeks instruction finds the path from dark to light.
Oh, turn away from folly's jest, from scorn and prideful mirth,
Embrace the humble, seeking heart, find wisdom's endless worth.
For in the quest for deeper truths, in humility and grace,
Lies the journey to true knowledge, to a more enlightened place.
So heed the call of Proverbs, let wisdom be your guide,
Reject the ways of foolishness, let understanding abide.
For in the light of true wisdom, where mockery is undone,
You'll find the path of righteousness, where the journey's just begun.
