In the Shadows of History #1663

In the Shadows of History If history teaches us one thing, It's that history teaches us nothing. Cycles of time endlessly sing, Yet we repeat, hearts ever bluffing. The old world's grip begins to wane, Yet the new struggles to take flight. Caught in between, a murky pain, A twilight cast 'twixt day and night. In this interregnum we find, A place where dreams are bound and tied. Morbid symptoms plague the mind, As hope and fear together bide. The past's lessons, lost in the haze, A teacher whose voice we ignore. Blindly we walk through mirrored maze, Searching for keys to unknown door. Yet in this darkness, faintly glows, A spark that whispers of rebirth. For in the dying, something grows, A seed that's sown within the earth. History's shadows may confound, But in the shadows, light can gleam. The future waits to be unbound, Awakening from troubled dream. -Steven G. Lee (June 6, 2024)
