Embracing Divine Folly: The Paradox of True Wisdom #1915
Embracing Divine Folly: The Paradox of True Wisdom
For the message of the cross, they call it folly,
To those who tread the path of fleeting breath,
But to the souls embraced by grace’s glory,
It’s power, life, and victory over death.
The wisdom of the wise, He’ll lay to waste,
The cleverness of intellect, He’ll foil,
Where are the sages with their haughty haste?
Where are the learned in their worldly toil?
For in His wisdom, God has shown the way,
The world, in wisdom, knew Him not, so blind,
Through what seems foolish, God to us displays
A love profound, salvation intertwined.
The Jews seek signs, the Greeks demand their lore,
But we proclaim the Christ who bore the cross,
A stumbling block and foolishness in store,
Yet in His sacrifice, the gain from loss.
For those who heed the call, both Jew and Greek,
In Christ, the power of God is manifest,
His wisdom, though it seems absurdly weak,
Is stronger, wiser than the world’s best.
Embrace the folly, let the world deride,
For in His weakness, strength and wisdom hide.
