Unified Streams: A Journey of Faith #1906

Unified Streams: A Journey of Faith (Streams of Faith: Catholicism and Protestantism) In ancient paths where faith began, Two rivers flow through every land. Catholic roots, a lineage deep, From Peter's keys, a promise to keep. Tradition and scripture, hand in hand, Seven sacraments in grace they stand. Bread and wine, in Mass they rise, Transformed to Christ before our eyes. Mary and saints, in reverence held, Prayers like incense, their stories tell. Hierarchy guides with ordered grace, Liturgical rites in sacred space. Yet, Reformation winds did blow, Protestant paths began to show. Scripture alone, the guiding light, Faith through grace, salvation’s sight. Baptism, Supper, symbols profound, In varied views, their meanings found. Mary honored, saints remembered, Yet prayers to Christ alone are rendered. Structures diverse, voices heard, Worship forms from liturgy to word. Two paths diverge, yet both believe, In Christ’s love, they interweave. At the Savior’s feet, they find their place, In unity, despite their space. Catholic and Protestant, hands entwined, Streams of faith, together aligned. Embrace the journey, rich and wide, In shared belief, let hearts confide. For in this tapestry of grace, We find our common sacred space. -Steven G. Lee (June 23, 2024)
