Two Frameworks of Understanding: Dispensational vs. Covenant Theology #1945

Two Frameworks of Understanding: Dispensational vs. Covenant Theology In the tapestry of faith, two paths diverge, Dispensational light and Covenant surge. History’s lens through which we seek, The story of God, in voices unique. Dispensationalism: epochs clearly defined, Seven dispensations, each one outlined. Innocence in Eden, Conscience unfurled, Human Government, Promise, shaping the world. The Law at Sinai, Grace at the cross, A Church Age dawns, in Christ no loss. A Millennial Kingdom, a thousand-year reign, Prophetic visions in literal plane. Israel and the Church, distinct they stand, Promises fulfilled, by God’s own hand. A pre-tribulation rapture, believers arise, Seven years of trial, then peace in skies. Covenant Theology: one thread divine, Covenants binding, a heavenly sign. Redemption’s plan in eternal decree, Grace unfolding, setting captives free. Covenant of Works with Adam began, Life for obedience, God’s perfect plan. Then Grace revealed, through Abraham’s seed, Christ the fulfillment, in Him we’re freed. Old and New Testament, a seamless bond, Israel and the Church, in faith’s sweet song. One unified people, God’s love embraced, Prophecies in symbols, by grace interlaced. End times viewed through a different lens, Amillennial, postmillennial trends. God’s kingdom now, in the Church’s frame, A reign of peace, in Jesus’ name. Two views, one faith, both seek to explain, The depths of Scripture, God’s grand domain. In Dispensations or Covenants bright, The story of grace, through darkness and light. May we see in these paths, a wisdom unfold, A journey of truth, in stories retold. For in the heart of each doctrine's embrace, We find the wonders of God’s boundless grace. -Steven G. Lee (June 26, 2024)
