The Parable of the Partridge #1718
The Parable of the Partridge
In lands where partridges roam and stay,
Non-migratory, in their homes they lay,
Their lives a testament to nature's plan,
Unmoved by the seasons, they firmly stand.
"We're not just companies; we're an Economy,"
Voices echo in the market's symphony,
Yet a whisper from ancient times remains,
A parable of wisdom, a truth that sustains.
As the partridge sitteth on eggs unhatched,
So is he who gathers riches, unmatched,
But not by right, by toil or honest hand,
In the midst of his days, his wealth will disband.
Jeremiah spoke of this truth profound,
A life of folly where no roots are found,
Riches gained by deceit shall decay,
Leaving fools in the end, lost and astray.
For the partridge, in her nature, finds no peace,
Her eggs unhatched, her labors cease,
So too the man who covets wealth in vain,
Will find his days fleeting, his efforts in disdain.
Let this be a lesson, old yet true,
That what we sow is what we accrue,
Riches by right bring lasting grace,
But ill-gotten gains lead to disgrace.
In the quiet fields where partridges stay,
May we learn to walk a righteous way,
For in the end, it’s not the wealth we hold,
But the integrity of our soul, more precious than gold.
