The Light of Salvation: Jesus' Mission to Deliver from Darkness and Death in the Synoptic Gospels #1754

The Light of Salvation: Jesus' Mission to Deliver from Darkness and Death in the Synoptic Gospels In shadows deep where sorrows lie, Where darkness veils the searching eye, A promise bright as morning's breath, Dispels the gloom of sin and death. From ancient words the prophets told, A light would shine, a love unfold, In Bethlehem, a star of grace, Would lead the lost to a holy place. Through Galilee's sun-kissed land, A Savior walks with healing hand, The blind will see, the mute will sing, In His embrace, new life begins. He calls the weary, burdened souls, From shadowed paths and endless tolls, "Come forth," He speaks, "to light and peace, In Me, your chains of sin release." In Matthew's words, the dawn appears, A light for those in darkest fears, The people in the shadowed vale, Rejoice as morning's rays prevail. Mark tells of the Physician true, Who came to heal and make life new, The sick, the sinner, lost and weak, Find strength and hope in Him they seek. And Luke, with careful, loving pen, Writes of the peace brought unto men, A guiding light, a path made straight, Through Him, the narrow, heavenly gate. Oh, Light of lights, so pure, divine, In Synoptic truths, Your glories shine, You break the bonds of night and death, And fill our hearts with living breath. So let us sing of Jesus' name, The One who bore our sin and shame, The Light of Salvation, ever bright, Dispelling darkness with holy light. -Steven G. Lee (June 10, 2024)
