The Double-Edged Sword of Wealth #1683
The Double-Edged Sword of Wealth
The rich man who gives, steals twice anew,
First the gold, then hearts so true.
Through gilded hands, his fortune grown,
From toiling backs, the seeds were sown.
With acts of grace, he stands in light,
A beacon in the darkest night.
Yet shadows whisper tales of greed,
Where noble deeds mask hidden need.
Coins that clink in beggars' bowls,
Echo cries of broken souls.
Charity, a polished mask,
Hides the sins no questions ask.
From fields of sweat and factories’ hum,
The wealth amassed, the piper’s drum.
With gifts he buys the world’s esteem,
Yet leaves untouched the poor’s true dream.
To mend the rift, to heal the breach,
Not through gold, but truths we teach.
Equality, the heartfelt goal,
Beyond the riches, save the soul.
In halls of power, his name resounds,
While justice waits on shaky grounds.
The rich man who gives, steals twice anew,
But hope remains with hearts so true.
