Reclaiming the Light #1976
Reclaiming the Light
In this age of screens, where shadows play,
We tread on paths of half-spoken truths today.
Our words, lost in the clamor of the crowd,
Echo hollow, bold yet unbowed.
Our reverence lost in the buzz of the now,
With casual curses, we break our sacred vow.
Lies tailored like suits, sleek and refined,
Stealing more than goods, but peace of mind.
Murders not of flesh, but of repute,
Character slain for a point, absolute.
Adultery of spirit, not just of heart,
From our deeper values, we drift apart.
In the clamor of conflict, the blood we see
Is the ink of slander, as deadly as it can be.
Altars built of bytes, not of stone,
Overrun with neglect, forgotten and alone.
Mountains of progress, lofty and grand,
Yet under their shadows, we can't stand.
"Hiding us," we cry, in echoes stark,
Beneath ambitions that miss the mark.
Yet in this wilderness, a whisper calls,
To mend the weave of a world that falls.
In acts of kindness, in truth's pursuit,
We find the seeds that take root.
Reclaiming the land, step by step,
Restoring the light where shadows crept.
In each small deed, the truth we sew,
In the hope that from these acts, a garden will grow.
