Reawakening the Spirit #1684

Reawakening the Spirit In the heart of faith, a flicker dims, A light once bright now softly dims, Complacent hearts and minds at ease, Lost in comfort, missing the pleas. Remember, friend, the ancient call, A Savior came to save us all, Not to condemn, but to redeem, A world restored, a sacred dream. Do not be ashamed of the truth you hold, A testimony worth more than gold, Join in suffering, stand unbowed, With courage strong, proclaim aloud. Return to basics, reclaim the core, The Gospel’s power forevermore, Repentance, faith, and Spirit’s flame, In Jesus’ name, we rise, proclaim. Live out your faith with heart sincere, Authentic love will draw them near, In every act, in every word, Let Christ’s pure message be heard. In community, we find our strength, In prayer and study, go the length, Hold each other, lift, and guide, In God’s great love, we will abide. Engage the world with wisdom’s voice, With compassion and grace, make the choice, To speak the truth in love profound, To stand for Christ on holy ground. For revival comes from God above, In fervent prayer and selfless love, Seek His face, His guidance true, In His power, we are made new. Reawaken the spirit, let it burn, To the ancient paths, let us return, With hearts on fire, we rise and stand, As a light of hope across the land. -Steven G. Lee (June 7, 2024)
