Foundation of Life: Truth, Mercy, and Faithfulness to God #1964

Foundation of Life: Truth, Mercy, and Faithfulness to God My heart is sick, the burden deep, For healing's call we nightly weep. Is there no cure, no doctor near? Why does our land still live in fear? Deceitful friends, no truth to find, Tongues trained to lie, hearts left behind. Violence reigns, sin won't release, Neighbor's words devoid of peace. Will justice not, from Heaven, fall? Will punishment not heed our call? The Lord has spoken, judgment's due, For a nation that forsakes the true. Be merciful, with hearts so kind, Reflect the Lord in heart and mind. When trials come, do not ask why, For faith's true test is drawing nigh. Abraham's fire, Jacob's blind eyes, Joseph's lost home, Job's painful cries. Moses faced tyrants, Aaron's betrayal, Jonah's patience, Solomon's royal travail. David's wars, each trial a mold, Not gold or chariots, riches untold. Truth, mercy, faith, the foundation strong, In these, my people, we belong. Anchor your life in God's decree, Let mercy, justice, set you free. For in His truths, eternal light, We find our way through darkest night. -Steven G. Lee (June 26, 2024)
