Beyond Bias: Seeing Truth in Others #1942 (Poem)
Beyond Bias: Seeing Truth in Others
In a world where hearts are swayed,
By the smiles of friends, the foes we evade,
We find it rare, if ever we dare,
To see the bad in those we hold dear.
With blinded eyes, we miss the flaws,
In voices that echo our applause,
And yet with hate, our sight grows sharp,
To tear apart the kindest heart.
The plank within our own eyes stays,
As we judge others in biased ways,
But truth, it calls, beyond the haze,
To see with clarity, through life's maze.
For partiality blinds the soul,
And hinders us from seeing whole,
The good in those we might despise,
The faults in those who wear disguise.
Let wisdom guide, let hearts be free,
From the chains of partiality,
To judge with fairness, pure and true,
In every heart, see what is due.
For God, He sees with eyes so just,
Beyond our likes, beyond distrust,
May we learn from His divine,
To see the truth, to judge in kind.
In every soul, both friend and foe,
There lies a truth we need to know,
Beyond our bias, love's pure light,
Reveals the wrong, affirms the right.
