Veiled Predators: A Caution in Discernment #109

Veiled Predators: A Caution in Discernment In the twilight of discernment, whispers of wisdom from ancient texts echo, casting light on shadows that lurk in sheep's clothing. "Beware," they murmur, "of the false prophets, those masqueraders, cloaked in innocence yet harboring the soul of the wolf." Like specters in the night, they move silently, their teeth sheathed in smiles, their predatory nature veiled by a façade of harmlessness. These wolves, clad in deceptive garb, do not brandish weapons of war but weapons of deceit. They are not mere thieves in the night; they are usurpers of truth, donning the mantle of legitimacy, cloaked in the guise of law and order. Their legitimacy, a masquerade, a shield against the arrows of reproach, convincing the unwary of their benign intentions. Gone are the days when wolves hunted with the honesty of their nature, raw and unadorned. Now, they weave themselves into the fabric of the flock, insidious, their true nature cloaked in deception. Recognize them, call them by their true name, and watch the wolf shed its sheepskin, revealing the hostility that lies beneath. Once, the wolves would lie in wait, hidden in the grasses, eyes glinting with hunger as they stalked the unsuspecting sheep. But evolution in deception has birthed a new predator. They walk among us, sit beside us, their appetite insatiable, consuming not just the flesh but the very resources we hold dear, leaving behind a wasteland where once there was abundance. And so the ancient voices warn, their words resonating through time: "The prophets who claim to speak in my name are but charlatans, architects of illusion, crafting false visions from the fabric of their own delusions." And remember, when all voices sing your praises, be wary, for this is the path tread by false prophets, adored by ancestors lost in the fog of their lies. This tapestry of words, woven from ancient wisdom, serves as a beacon, guiding us through the treacherous waters of deception. It implores us to sharpen our discernment, to see beyond the veil of appearances, and to uncover the true intentions that lurk beneath benign exteriors. In this dance of truth and illusion, only the vigilant eye can discern the wolf from the sheep. -Written by Steven G. Lee (January 24, 2024)
