Between Curtains and Crosses: Heart's Journey Through Faith and Life #106

Between Curtains and Crosses: Heart's Journey Through Faith and Life In a world without faith's light, Life's a play on stage so bright. Curtains fall, the end in sight, Rich and poor, in different plight. Simple robes the humble wear, While rich in heavy cloaks they bear. Joy hides sorrow, worry's flair, In labor's pain, comfort's there. Leisure brings a comfort fleeting, Pain we face, but itch defeating. Good and bad, in life's great meeting, Interwoven, heart's still beating. Believers in the cross's grace, Worldly joys, they do not chase. Misfortune met with steady pace, In Christ's peace, they find their place. Joy comes in, open-hearted, Sorrow, too, then quietly parted. No extra worries, uncharted, In this faith, the journey started. Humility, the grace imparts, No scorn for others, no haughty hearts. Christ's words, a healing arts, "Peace I leave," His love imparts. "Let not your heart be troubled," He said, "Nor in fear's shadow be led." A path of peace we're gently led, In life's play, by faith we're fed. -Written by Steven G. Lee (January 22, 2024)
