Humor and Holiness: The Preacher's Path #62

Humor and Holiness: The Preacher's Path In pulpits where laughter and jest are employed, To sway hearts, the gospel's deep truth is toyed. Humor, a balm for life's stress and its pain, Yet risks the profound teachings of Christ to profane. For levity's touch may lead astray, From the gospel's core, in a trivial way. Violating, perhaps, the commandment of third, Where the Lord's name in vain, should not be heard. Remember, O preachers, in your sacred mission, The gospel of Christ is no mere apparition. Not an escape from our worldly reality, But a path to salvation, to spiritual vitality. In truth and in spirit, the message must ring, For in Christ's teachings, true salvation we find. A guide through life's trials, a beacon so bright, In the gospel of Jesus, we walk towards the light. -Written by Steven G. Lee (January 14, 2023)
