Alchemy of Grace: A Journey from Manger to Cross #39

Alchemy of Grace: A Journey from Manger to Cross In the hushed shadows of a world asleep, Three wise men traversed, their journey steep, To honor a birth, a newborn's first cry, Under a starlit, whispering sky. Gifts they brought, of gold and scent, Frankincense and myrrh, their fragrances lent, To a manger cradled in night's embrace, Illuminated by grace, in a humble place. But as time's river flowed, relentless, unseen, That child, once cradled, became a man, serene, His worth, once held in gifts so rare, Reduced to silver coins, thirty, laid bare. Oh, what strange alchemy does life perform, Where gold turns to silver, and warm to forlorn? A journey from manger to cross, so profound, In a world where values are turned upside down. And there, the cross of Jesus stands, A testament to changing sands, In this realm of inverted worth, Where heaven touches the earth. Ask not, "Where is my cross to bear?" For in Christ's gospel, it's declared, In every time, in every place, It stands, a symbol of grace, a space. Here, in the prose of life and death, Where spirit mingles with mortal breath, The story unfolds, both old and new, In the light of truth, ever true. -Written Steven G. Lee (January 8, 2024)
