Unwavering Light in a World Adrift #102
Unwavering Light in a World Adrift
In the gaze of Jesus, a world split in twain:
Righteous knowledge, yet actionless hearts in chains,
Capability to do good, yet drive remains slain.
Society, a whirlwind of wealth, fame, power's reign,
Neglecting the soul's call, life's truest refrain.
Chasing shadows, a pursuit, universally ordained,
In such a world, chaos mirrors Gerasa's insane.
Yet, amid this storm, Jesus, unswervingly sustained,
His path unwavering, to the Father's will chained,
In a world adrift, His commitment unfeigned.
Herein lies our lesson, a truth deeply ingrained:
Our faith, oft a shadow of the gospel's domain.
In speaking, in preaching, let humility remain.
Words of the gospel, not just spoken, but ingrained,
Like Jesus, let us embody God's will, unstrained.
In practice, not just in promise, our faith is ascertained,
Tireless, wholehearted, God's purpose uncontained.
In His footsteps, let our actions be sustained,
For in living His word, true faith is maintained,
In a world of confusion, His love unexplained.
(Reflecting on: Luke 8:26-38; 10:25-37; Matthew 8:28-34; 23:1-39; Mark 5:1-20)
