The Wisdom of Nearby Waters #77

The Wisdom of Nearby Waters In the realm where flames dance and twirl, A lesson unfolds, a wisdom pearl. When extinguishing a nearby fire, Seek not a distant stream's desire. Close at hand, the answers lie, In the wells we oft pass by. For the distant water, though pure and deep, Demands a journey long and steep. The fire rages, time is fleeting, Each moment lost, the flames are greeting. With every step away we roam, The fire finds a stronger home. Look not to far horizons wide, For solutions in the stride. The nearest brook, the simplest way, Can quell the flames that in our path lay. This truth holds not just in flame's fierce night, But in life's struggles, in our plight. Often the aid we seek afar, Shines in our midst, a close-held star. So when you face a fiery test, Remember, nearby waters are best. For in simplicity, we often find, The greatest power to unbind. -Written by Steven G. Lee (January 17, 2024)
