Beyond the Fifth Commandment: A Vision for Humanity #155

Beyond the Fifth Commandment: A Vision for Humanity In whispers soft and duty-bound, Where love's great tapestry is found, We trace the threads, both old and new, To commandments, four and two. Light beams guiding, pure and bright, To love our God with all our might. Yet in the fifth, a bridge we see, From divine will to you and me. A balance delicate and fine, Where earthly and the heavenly align. Neglect this law, the structure sways, On fragile threads our future lays. To honor parents is our call, Not just obedience, but the all. It promises life, long and vast, On lands our God has kindly cast. Ignore this, and the pillars shake, Foundations of humanity at stake. The fabric of connections, so refined, Starts with respect for those who've shined. To disregard is to invite Chaos, turmoil, endless night. Yet scripture's view, wide and deep, Tells of a family, not just ours to keep. Beyond blood ties, a kinship grand, In Matthew, Luke, and Mark's command. A vision broad, encompassing all, To love and honor, lest we fall. This broader family, under God's gaze, Calls us to love, in all our days. A future bright, with peace as king, Where filial piety's praises we sing. A world where every soul is dear, Where love transcends, and God is near. This vision grand, a call to all, To build a future, proud and tall. In honoring each, from first to last, We weave a future, strong and vast. With every act, respect we show, To divine and human family, our love we bestow. Towards a future, bright and wise, Guided by the light that never dies. -Written by Steven G. Lee (January 31, 2024)
