Love's Divine Command #56
Love's Divine Command
In Mark's words, a lesson rings clear,
"Love God and neighbor," let this be your sphere.
A command, so vital, Christ did impart,
To bind with God, and human hearts to start.
Forgetting this truth, we drift away,
From God's embrace, in shadows we stray.
Lost to the world, where self reigns supreme,
Chasing the false, a material dream.
Selfish desires, greed's glittering face,
Lead us astray from love's tender grace.
Competition for power, honor's race,
These worldly pursuits, our spirit's disgrace.
Yet, the gospel's values, pure and sure,
Teach us a path, both righteous and pure.
In Corinthians' wisdom, a contrast we find,
Eternal values, the spiritual kind.
To love others as ourselves, a heavenly key,
Aligns us with Christ's true message, sets us free.
In this divine principle, our hearts entwine,
Reflecting God's love, forever divine.
