Voices of the Giants: A Reflection on Influence and Integrity #1139

Voices of the Giants: A Reflection on Influence and Integrity In the realm where giants stride, Towers scrape the sky's soft underbelly, Digital murmurs traverse seas, And power walks with heavy feet. Clothed in prosperity's rich garb, Their burdens light, their paths unmarred, Pride—a glistening chain about their necks, Violence—the robe that graces their backs. They stand aloft, on thrones of their own making, Mocking the limits that bind mere mortals, Their sharp words cut the air, sever bonds, Casting long shadows over the meek and mild. From their high seats, their tongues lash wide and far, Echoing through the city's ceaseless hum, Across the waiting fields, the restless seas, Infecting hearts with their resonant call. And we, ever thirsty, drink their fervent speech, Absorbing drops of gilded words, Hoping to capture a flicker of their fire, To find direction in their commanding echo. But let us tread cautiously on this gilded path, Lest in our thirst, we drink the sand, Mistaking mirage for a verdant spring, And wander further from the truth we seek. Seek instead the clear springs of sincerity, That rise from soil rich with justice and care, Let wisdom's water cleanse our sight, And guide us true through shadow and light. Written by Steven G.
