The Humble Gaze of the Gospel #1555
The Humble Gaze of the Gospel
In the gospel's tender gaze,
Humanity is not seen as righteous,
But through veils of distorted days,
Lives damaged, hypocritical, ungracious.
Falsehoods and evil weave their thread,
Through the fabric of our existence,
The gospel critiques with words unsaid,
A spirit of denial, sharp in persistence.
A kingdom humble, refrains from fight,
Content in lowliness, finds its place,
In serving the weak, sinners in their plight,
Divinity's quiet touch, a tender grace.
Not in grandeur does Heaven reside,
But in service to the least,
Where humility and love abide,
Reflecting the heart of the divine feast.
