Title: Shadows Over the Valleys #1138
Title: Shadows Over the Valleys
In the vast expanse of our modern landscape, where skyscrapers mimic the eternal reach of Babel and digital whispers cross oceans in the blink of an eye, there are those who walk unburdened by common strife. Clad in the opulence of unchecked prosperity, their feet scarce touch the gravel of the weary road most tread.
Pride, their radiant necklace, glimmers with a cold light, and violence, their chosen robe, trails behind in the dust of broken spirits and silenced voices. Elevated upon the pedestals of their own creation, they scoff at the notion of limit, their words—sharp as talons—rend the fabric of civility, casting shadows over the valleys of the humble and the plains of the meek.
Their tongues, mighty as the heavens, roam the earth unrestrained. Echoes of their decrees resonate in the hollows of our bones, across cities that never sleep, through fields that wait for rain. And we, in our thirst for something grand, something shimmering with the sheen of the divine, turn to them. We drink deeply, oh so deeply, of their words, like parched earth drinks in the rain, hoping to glean meaning, to sate our hunger for direction in the tumult of our days.
Yet in our fervor, we must pause—lest in our thirst, we swallow too the sands of their deserts, mistaking mirages for oases, and find ourselves more lost than when we began. Let us instead seek springs that rise from truth, that flow with the gentle strength of justice, and let our cups overflow with the clarity of wisdom rather than the mire of deceit.
