The Illusion of Separation #1487
The Illusion of Separation
In the vast expanse of God’s presence, separation whispers the greatest illusion. The tale unfolds, a parable etched in the sacred scrolls, where the second son, weary and worn, awakens to the truth. He returns, his journey of repentance paving the path home. Once lost, now found; once homeless, now embraced. The Father's arms enfold him, a robe of grace draped over his shoulders, a ring of belonging slipped onto his finger. The feast begins, a celebration of resurrection within his soul.
Yet, amidst the joy, the first son stands on the threshold, the shadows of resentment casting a pall over his heart. He who never strayed, now finds himself estranged, a wanderer in his own home. His feet inch towards the door, his spirit grappling with the illusion of separation. In his eyes, the divide between justice and mercy seems insurmountable, his brother’s return a wound to his pride.
The Heavenly Father, bearing the cross between his beloved sons, stands as the eternal mediator. His love bridges the chasm, His sacrifice the cornerstone of reconciliation. He calls out, not with reproach, but with a gentle reminder of abiding presence and unending grace. “All that I have is yours,” He speaks, His voice a balm to the elder’s turmoil. The scene unfolds, a living testament to the Gospel of Jesus Christ, echoing through the ages.
Today, this parable breathes life into our streets, where nearly sixty percent of the homeless are baptized Christians. The illusion of separation persists, yet the truth remains: in God’s presence, no one is ever truly homeless. The cross stands as the perpetual bridge, inviting every heart to come home, to find rest in the embrace of the Divine.
