The Call for Genuine Faith #1566

The Call for Genuine Faith In ancient words, a timeless call, "Repent, and enter heaven’s hall." Yet here we stand in gilded space, You hypocrites, shut heaven’s gates. Across the lands, you seek and find, Converts burdened, hearts confined. What do you offer, empty guise, Faith in chains, with souls despised. Blind guides who praise the temple’s gold, Forget the sacred truth it holds. Binding oaths to wealth you cling, Neglect the holiness within. You tithes of mint and dill proclaim, But justice, mercy, you disdain. The weightier matters cast aside, Unseen, unloved, you choose to hide. In zealous rites, the spirit lost, Compassion, love, you count the cost. The doors you shut, the hearts you bind, The light of truth you leave behind. Hear the call that breaks through time, Repent, in spirit so divine. Let justice flow, let mercy stream, Let faithfulness in hearts redeem. The kingdom lies not in the gold, Nor in the tithes your hands uphold. But in the hearts of those who seek, With humble love, with spirits meek. Repent, and enter heaven’s hall, Not blind guides, but light for all. True followers, in justice tread, With mercy, faithfulness be led. Into the arms of endless grace, Together find our rightful place. In the eternal kingdom’s light, Where love and truth forever bright. Written by Steven G. Lee (May 31, 2024)
