Teacher, Do You Not Care If We Perish? #1256

Teacher, Do You Not Care If We Perish? The tempest swirls, the waves reach high, "Teacher, do You not care if we perish?" we cry. "Peace! Be still!" His voice cuts through, A whisper of calm where fear once grew. "Why are you afraid? Have you no faith?" His gaze beckons us to trust and embrace. God's power is strong where the frail reside, A weakness in which His strength will abide. The sign of this age is a carcass fallen low, With vultures circling in a mournful show. False prophets speak wisdom to the desperate throng, But smoke hides the truth that will right every wrong. "What is truth?" Pilate asks in vain, The answer stands silent, enduring the pain. Prophets without vision and false to the core, Are disgraced by their failure, predicting no more. False Christs and false prophets will deceive, Performing wonders to lure those who believe. But faith stands as an anchor amid the storm, Unyielding and steady, keeping us warm. Clinging to the promise that His love will fill, With the words that calm, "Peace! Be still!"
