The Divine Dance: Living the Gospel Through Deeds #482

The Divine Dance: Living the Gospel Through Deeds In the quiet whispers of dawn, where light meets the shadow, He walked among us, a beacon in the tempest, speaking in deeds louder than words could ever muster. Jesus, the carpenter, built not just with wood and nail, but with actions that spoke the language of the divine. He taught us through the living parables of His existence, where the blind leading the blind was not just a tale, but a mirror to our souls. He stood, a foundation solid as rock, amidst the sands of fleeting convictions, calling out to those with ears to hear and hearts to understand. "Why do you call me, 'Lord, Lord,' and do not do what I say?" His question, a gentle chisel, shapes the contours of our faith, urging us to build upon the rock, not upon the whim of shifting sands. His life, a testament written in the ink of sacrifice, the cross a signature beneath the covenant of grace. In His crucifixion, the ultimate act of love, He showed that to preach the gospel is to live it, every breath a verse, every action a chapter in the divine narrative. Worship, He whispered, is not confined to the mountains high or the valleys low, not bound to Gerizim or Jerusalem, but it's a melody sung in the spirit, a truth lived in the marrow of our being. Over time, our songs have drifted, elevating words above deeds, forgetting that the gospel is not just spoken but enacted, a symphony of faith and works in harmonious blend. Jesus calls us back to the essence, to the heart where faith and action dance in eternal embrace. He invites us to see the gospel as God's will made manifest, to live it, breathe it, be it. In this divine dance, we find the true essence of worship, not in the abundance of our words, but in the depth of our deeds. So, let us walk in His footsteps, our lives a prose poem of faith in action, each step a verse, each deed a stanza, echoing the eternal message: To love, to serve, to act is to truly live the gospel. Let this be the poetry we write, the legacy we leave, a living testament to the truth that in Him, words and deeds are one. Written by Steven G. Lee (March 5, 2024)
