A Call to Hearts: The Essence of Being #679

A Call to Hearts: The Essence of Being In the silent hours, under the watchful gaze of stars, a question whispers through the night: Who are we, really, if we choose to walk past the echo of our neighbors’ cries? There’s a story, old yet ever new, spoken in the hush between beats of the heart— Luke's tale of mercy, where the Samaritan knew: Our neighbors are those who mercy impart. It’s not ours to judge, to weigh, to measure, who deserves the hand, the smile, the time. Our calling, simple yet infinitely precious: Lift the fallen, mend the broken, let kindness chime. In the grasp of idolatry, minds often wander, placing worth in the hollow, the empty, the less. Yet, from the Gospel flows a freedom, a ponder: To flee from the idols, from self-made caress. And so, the greatest commandment, a beacon bright, calls us to love, with all our might: God above, and the neighbor in sight— as we love ourselves, in the day and the night. In this dance of empathy, of compassion, of care, we find our true selves, our call to share. Not in dominion, nor in judgment's glare, but in the moments we lift, heal, and repair. Thus, we journey, hearts joined, spirits light, embracing each day with renewed sight. For in loving, in lifting, we reach the greatest height— together, in the warmth of love’s eternal light.
