Together We Thrive: A Poem of Ubuntu #707
Together We Thrive: A Poem of Ubuntu
In the warmth of an African dawn,
Children stood by a tree, hearts drawn.
A basket of fruits, ripe and sweet,
Lay at their feet, a tempting treat.
An anthropologist, with curious eyes,
Proposed a game, a fruit-filled prize.
"The fastest may claim this luscious bounty,"
Yet, what unfolded was a lesson in unity.
Hand in hand, they ran with glee,
Not one against another, but together, free.
To the tree, they arrived, a united front,
Sharing the fruits, a communal stunt.
"Why choose to share, when one could win all?"
Their answer, a whisper, a profound call:
"Ubuntu," they said, "is our guiding light,
How can one be happy, if others face plight?"
This tale mirrors a truth, both old and yet new,
In scriptures and hearts, it perennially grew.
To love one's neighbor as oneself,
A divine command, our spiritual wealth.
Galatians taught us to bear one another,
Philippians urged, to look out for each other.
In Corinthians, we find, our joys and our sorrows,
Are shared amongst all, today and tomorrows.
This story, a beacon, in our oft-troubled times,
Reminds us that together, we reach greater climbs.
Let us embrace Ubuntu, in all that we do,
For in unity, our spirits renew.
Let this poem be a message, clear and profound,
In shared joy and love, our true selves are found.
May we live by Ubuntu, in all our days,
Together we thrive, in so many ways.
