Upon the Path of Compassion #678
Upon the Path of Compassion
In the realm of silent questioning, beneath celestial glow,
A query softly breaches the tranquility of our souls.
What essence do we claim, if, before suffering's echo,
We stride, indifferent, goals untold?
From ancient script, a parable unfolds,
Revealing truth through actions bold.
The Good Samaritan, his story told,
Defines a neighbor by mercy's hold.
Not ours to judge who's worthy of grace,
Our mission lies in a nobler space.
To uplift the downtrodden, in life's relentless race,
Mend spirits broken, with gentle embrace.
Idolatry’s grasp, a siren’s call,
Lures hearts to places shallow and small.
Yet, the Gospel’s freedom, a clarion call,
Invites us from idolatry’s thrall.
The greatest of commandments, a light to guide,
In love for God and neighbor, we find our stride.
With all our being, this truth we abide,
A mandate of love, wide and worldwide.
In acts of kindness, empathy's seed,
We discover our truth, our creed.
Not in dominion or judgment's deed,
But in the love we spread, our shared creed.
Thus we walk, hand in hand, spirits kindled, hearts light,
On a journey through day, through night.
In the simple act of loving, we find our might,
Together, under love’s eternal, guiding light.
