Whispers Beyond the Silver Veil #684

Whispers Beyond the Silver Vei In shadows of lore and scripture's light, Judas treads, Veiled in tales' mist, where infamy his name weds. Betrayal's coin, his fame's cruel host, Yet in history's whispers, a lingering ghost— What drove the man to kiss, condemn, and tears shed? "Judas," a name among many, yet he alone bears, The world's gaze heavy, its judgment he wears. "Iscariot," to mark him from others apart, From Kerioth he hailed, or so tales impart, A zealot, a patriot, or a soul in Messiah's snares? The Gospels speak, yet keep his heart concealed, A companion of the divine, his fate sealed. Bread shared, then faith betrayed, For silver, for freedom, or reasons in time's shade? Remorse and death, in silence revealed, Through centuries, his guilt and sorrow sculpted and peeled. Art and verse cast him, again and again, A villain to some, in others' eyes, a tale of pain. Caught in a narrative vast, his role played, A tragedy, a figure from whom many have strayed. Judas, oh Judas, in your heart's quiet, what truths lie? A traitor remembered, or fate's caught fly? In destiny's dance, your part you've played, A human tale amidst the divine, in shadow and light weighed. Here, in twilight's soft prose, we seek to find, Not absolution, but to understand, to unbind. Beyond the silver, beyond the betraying kiss, To the man, the myth, in history's abyss. Who loved, who lost, and in losing, a legend defined, Judas, wrapped in enigma, a name intertwined. Written by Steven G. Lee (March 27, 2024)
