In the Shadows of Lore and the Light of Scripture, Judas Walks #683
In the Shadows of Lore and the Light of Scripture, Judas Walks
A figure shrouded in the mists of time and tale,
Betrayal's silver bought his name infamy,
Yet within the whispers of history, a question lingers—
What drove the man to kiss, to condemn, to weep?
"Judas," they called him, a name shared by many,
Yet none bore the weight of world's gaze as he.
"Iscariot," they added, setting him apart,
A man from Kerioth, or so the stories go,
A zealot? A patriot? A lost soul seeking a Messiah?
Gospels narrate, but do not unveil,
The heart of a man who walked with divinity,
Who broke bread, then broke faith,
For silver, for freedom, or for reasons lost to time.
His remorse a shadow, his death a whisper,
Echoing through centuries of painted guilt and sculpted sorrow.
Art and verse have cast him, time and again,
In roles crafted by the hands of those who never knew his face.
A villain to some, a tragedy to others,
Ensnared in a story larger than life, larger than himself.
Judas, oh Judas, what truths lie buried in your silent heart?
Are you the traitor history remembers,
Or a man caught in the unforgiving tide of fate and faith?
In the dance of destiny, you played your part—
A reminder that even in the divine,
The human story is fraught with shadows and light,
And every name carries a story untold, a path untraveled.
So here, in prose as soft as twilight, we ponder—
Not to absolve, but to understand,
To look beyond the silver, beyond the kiss,
To the man who lived, who loved, who lost,
And in losing, became a legend,
Wrapped in the enigma of a name: Judas.
