Gardens of the Soul: Reflecting on the Nature Within #484

Gardens of the Soul: Reflecting on the Nature Within In the hushed whispers of dawn, where light begins to touch the earth, a tale unfolds from the ancient words of Luke, a parable of trees and their fruit. It speaks to us, a gentle yet profound guidance, etching a path through the tangled woods of discernment, where the essence of good and evil waits to be unveiled. Imagine, if you will, a garden where trees stand tall, each bearing fruit according to its kind. A good tree, steadfast and true, offers sweet sustenance; its counterpart, shadowed and twisted, bears the bitter. This is the nature of things, a simple truth that life imparts: that from the essence of a tree, the fruit emerges, a testament to its core. This narrative, ancient yet ever-new, calls us to gaze deeper than the surface, to the heart of the forest where roots entwine. It asks us to see not just the fruit, but the soil it springs from, the tree it belongs to. For in the fruit lies the tree's story, and in the tree, the blueprint of its birthright. Our lives, too, are gardens, lush or barren, reflecting the nature of our hearts. Each action, a fruit, reveals the tree from which it came. Are we bearers of kindness, love, and truth, nurturing gardens where good fruit thrives? Or do we stand, unaware, in patches where thorns and brambles choke the light? In this dance of light and shadow, where every tree is known by its fruit, we find a mirror to our souls. The passage whispers a challenge: to cultivate within ourselves gardens rich with good fruit, to tend the trees of our being with care and conscience. Let us then journey, friends, through the gardens of our making, discerning the nature of our fruits, the essence of our trees. May we plant seeds of goodness, water them with intention, and bask in the harvest of actions born from purity and light. In this reflection, a prose poetry born of ancient wisdom, we are invited to ponder, to nurture, to grow. Together, let us weave through the tapestry of life, a pattern rich with the fruits of integrity, love, and unwavering truth. For in the end, it is not just the fruit that matters, but the tree it springs from, and the garden we choose to cultivate together. Warmly shared, from my heart to yours, in the hope of gardens flourishing with good fruit, for now and generations to come. Written by Steven G. Lee (March 6, 2024)
